We are SO excited to announce that, together with our good friend Duncan at Artisan Structures, we are holding Cambridge’s FIRST EVER wood fair on September 14th and 15th. It will be hosted by Burwash Manor in Barton - a working organic farm with a group of 15 independent shops.
The Wonder of Wood will showcase some of the region’s finest wood workers, crafters and artisans, and our ethos is to introduce children to the joy of engaging with nature , and to entice them away from screen time and back into the great outdoors.
From willow weaving to artisan carpentry, den building to spoon carving, survival skills to tree surgery, plus plenty more, this is a great day, or weekend, out. Get the children involved in the many woodland activities that will be on offer, and even try your hand at these wonderful crafts yourself! There will be plenty of opportunity to marvel at wood workers creating things of beauty in front of your very eyes, live music from local musicians and, of course, a LOT of fabulous food and drink to enjoy.
The Wonder of Wood promises to be a great day out for the whole family, with a focus on getting children involved and teaching them about various aspects of the outdoors. They will get the chance to learn important survival skills, go pond dipping and find out more about the magical fenland wildlife, take part in den building, listen to captivating stories from our storyteller, get their faces painted and MORE!
Tickets are £10.00 for adults and anyone under 16 enters for FREE!
